Litter continues to be a prevalent issue in Fort Mill, often clogging sewer drains, cluttering green spaces and harming local wildlife. Following a successful inaugural season, the Town is pleased to announce the return of its Second Saturday Service litter pick-up initiative to help combat this problem in our community! Last year we had 162 volunteers collect an estimated 137 bags of trash through this program, and we hope to surpass those stats in 2022!
We’re searching for volunteers to help remove litter from our roads during the second Saturday of several months this year, including May 14, June 11, Sept. 10 and Oct. 8. See the full map of high-litter areas here.
Participants will be able to sign in each of those Saturdays from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the white Town tent in Veterans Park, 106 N. White St., to collect trash bags, gloves, and vests, as well as a small gift of thanks from the Town.
Registration is now OPEN for the entire season! Volunteers can sign up below for this year's five Second Saturday events, and can choose the location of their clean up (as long as it is within Town limits). Click below to sign up:
