[ARCHIVED] Get Ready for Weekends on Main

Weekends on Main- Logo for signs

Get ready for Weekends on Main! In an effort to promote our local Main Street merchants and foster a pedestrian-friendly area for shopping and dining, the Town of Fort Mill will be closing the area of Main Street from Confederate St. to Tom Hall St. each weekend through Aug. 29, 2021. Shop some of your favorites, enjoy a meal with friends or just take a stroll down our historic Main Street!

This section of Main Street will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on Fridays through 10 p.m. on Sundays. Also, please note, the parking spaces along Main will be coned off beginning at 6 a.m. each of these Fridays. Motorists should be aware that traffic will be detoured around the area and signage will be posted during these weekends. Click here to view the various detours or see below.

Weekends on Main Q&A

What is Weekends on Main? Is this a street-fair type of event?  No, Weekends on Main is a Main Street merchant-focused opportunity. Only businesses with physical storefronts in the area between Confederate and Tom Hall streets along Main Street are participating. The idea is to promote our local Main Street merchants and foster a pedestrian-friendly area for shopping and dining. Individual merchants will be able to use the space in front of their businesses however they choose as a unique way for customers to enjoy their products or services.

Will there be music or entertainment during these weekends? While the Town is not hosting any entertainment during the Weekends on Main time periods, individual merchants may decide to feature acoustic music in the space outside their physical locations. Weekends on Main will not feature any concerts with amplified sound.

Are dogs welcome during Weekends on Main? Yes, leashed dogs are welcome at Weekends on Main, but pet owners must still follow any rules individual businesses have for pets indoors.

Where can I park? Though Main Street parking will not be available during Weekends on Main, parking will still be available in the two municipal lots found on each side of Main Street.

Can I apply to be a vendor on Weekends at Main? Currently, the event is geared only toward the existing merchants on Main Street. No outside businesses, vendors or food trucks will be featured during these weekends.
