The Town of Fort Mill is excited to announce that work has begun on the first phase of a new playground at Steele Street Park.
Construction crews will begin with demolition of the old playgrounds at the park and will prep the site for the new playground. Demolition is expected to last a few weeks, depending on weather, during which time the new playground materials will be shipped to the Town.
Installation of the new playground equipment is tentatively scheduled to follow and the playground should be completed this Fall, again depending on weather.
“This playground will be a wonderful new addition to Steele Street Park,” said Fort Mill Parks & Recreation Director Brown Simpson.
Please note, the park will remain open during construction, with the water splash pad, restroom facility, picnic shelter and outdoor basketball court all still available for public use. The public should use caution when using the park and avoid any portions under construction. Thank you for your patience as we make these amazing additions to Steele Street Park.
