[ARCHIVED] Fort Mill Announces Schedule of Fall Events

Fall events

Oct. 1, 2020— The Town of Fort Mill is happy to announce an exciting slate of Fall events, including a Scarecrow Crawl, Hay Maze and Fall Market.
Trick or Treat Main Street, which regularly attracts thousands of residents who bring their children for candy and costume contests, has been canceled this year due to social distancing guidelines and other COVID-19 regulations set forth by state and federal authorities. Despite this, the Town is looking forward to several ways for residents to celebrate Fall, including:
-The 6th Annual Scarecrow Crawl: This community-loved event, planned for Oct. 5 through 31, will showcase the Town’s largest ever crop of Scarecrows- 117! Come take a stroll in Downtown Fort Mill to see all the amazing entries created by individuals, schools, businesses, organizations, churches and more. A panel of judges will vote on several categories, and the public will also have a chance to weigh in on their favorite design on Facebook from Oct. 9 through 28. Winners will be announced on Oct. 31.
-Children’s Hay Maze: Brand new to Fort Mill this year is a 50-square-foot hay maze in Veterans Park in Downtown Fort Mill (106 N. White St.). Bring your children for an exciting adventure!
-The Fort Mill Fall Market: The Town’s new outdoor market has been in full swing since September and provides a great place for the community to purchase fall produce, farm products, fall/holiday crafts, gifts and more. The market is located at Fort Mill’s Veterans Park (106 N. White Street) and is held 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Nov. 21. Applications and information can be found by visiting the Town website (www.fortmillsc.gov) and searching the “Spotlights” section.
-Virtual Events: The Town will be offering a variety of virtual events from October to November, including a photo contest, pumpkin hunt, pumpkin decorating contest, Halloween Movie Scramble, Pets & People Halloween Costume Contest, and Fort Mill’s Got Talent contest. See the attached flyer for dates and keep an eye on the Town website (www.fortmillsc.gov) and social media for more details.
The Town asks the community to follow all COVID-19 Guidelines while enjoying the Scarecrow Crawl, searching the Hay Maze or shopping at the Fall Market.
