Park Rules

  • Park hours are 6 am to 9:30 pm. Approved Parks and Recreation Athletic sponsored program may extend past 6 pm.
  • Small children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • The Town of Fort Mill is not responsible for accidents and injuries while using the Town of Fort Mill Parks and Recreation Facilities.
  • No alcohol is allowed in town parks along with glass bottles or containers.
  • No campfires allowed without prior approval.
  • No dunking booths, hot air balloons, pony rides, inflatables, or livestock without prior approval.
  • Tents must be pre-approved and location coordinated with Parks and Recreation staff.
  • Shelters and Gazebos may be used if they are not rented. For rental information call 803-547-2116 or 803-547-2273.
  • Athletic Fields must be reserved separately from Shelter or Gazebo rentals. Call 803-547-2273.
  • Dogs are to be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean any waste left by pets.
  • It is unlawful to cut or destroy vegetation. No Parking on fields and parks. All vehicles must park in designated areas.
  • Trash containers are located throughout the parks and at shelters. It is unlawful to litter in Town Parks.
  • Advertising in Town Parks is prohibited unless approved by Parks and Recreation Director.
  • No off-road vehicles are allowed in Town Parks.
  • Please obey all "Fields Closed" signs.
  • Golfing or (practice) driving of golf balls in the parks is prohibited.
  • Selling of any food, drinks, or merchandise is prohibited in Town Parks unless approved by the Parks and Recreation Director.
  • No private event may be held in any park that is not pre-approved by the Parks and Recreation Director. Events are subject to rental fees and also required to have insurance naming the Town of Fort Mill as an additional insured.
  • Voice amplifier systems must meet the requirements of the Towns Sound Ordinance.
  • Large Gas Grills and/or Deep Fryers are prohibited.
  • Video or photography at parks for commercial or political purposes requires special arrangements and permission. Please contact the Events/Media Coordinator or Parks and Recreation Director.
  • Large groups and those wishing to hold a special event in the park will need approval from the Fort Mill Special Events Committee and complete the Special Event form (PDF).
  • Fireworks are prohibited in Town Parks except for public displays during Town sponsored events or as otherwise approved by the Town Manager.
  • The use of drones, flying model vehicles (including but not limited to model airplanes, helicopters, and rockets), and any other unmanned aerial vehicle are prohibited within any Town Park without prior written approval by the Parks and Recreation Director.
