As of January 2024, the Town of Fort Mill has taken a formal stance to no longer accept applications for private special events.
Private special events are those organized by outside, non–Town-affiliated groups that require Town staff support for logistics, public safety, or operations. Under this stance, the Town will not accept or process applications for private special events. This change does not impact the Town of Fort Mill’s regularly scheduled municipal events.
This stance reflects the Town Council’s direction following a review of how special events are supported and managed. The goal is to ensure public safety, maintain high-quality events, and responsibly manage Town resources moving forward.
